Registered Nurse (RN) Bridge Program

The Jefferson RN Bridge Program seeks to recruit new to practice nurses to all clinical areas at Jefferson Health. The program provides a structured orientation to each of our practice areas to promote a smooth transition into practice. The Program begins every March, August, and November and is 24 weeks of blended learning between classroom, online, simulation, and precepted experiences

Areas for transition:

  • Critical Care Pathway:  Cardiovascular ICU, Medical ICUs, Surgical ICU, Neuro ICUs, and PACUs
  • Transitional Care Pathway: Intermediate Surgical ICU, Progressive Care Unit, Acute Stroke Unit, Clinical Decision Unit, Intermediate Neuro ICUs, Intermediate Coronary Care Units, and Medical Telemetry Units
  • Emergency Nursing Pathway: Emergency Departments
  • Women and Children: High Risk OB, Labor and Delivery, and Maternal Infant/Nursery
  • Oncology Pathway: Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Medical Oncology, Intermediate Oncology, and various outpatient oncology opportunities
  • Perioperative Pathway: ORs and Jefferson Surgery Center
  • Medical Surgical Pathway:  General Surgery and Trauma Units, Orthopedics Units, GYN Surgery and General Medicine, Otolaryngology Unit, Urology, Transplant, and Renal Unit, Acute Care of the Elderly Unit


  • New Graduate Registered Nurses
  • Must be available for 72-80 hours bi-weekly


  • Personal Statement: 5 year plan     
  • Graduate from an accredited BSN program     
  • 2 year commitment
  • 3.3 GPA
