Outpatient & Specialty Procedures

Jefferson’s outpatient nurses provide expert care for patients who need medical procedures that do not require an overnight stay at a hospital or medical facility. Outpatient services and specialty procedures can include wellness and prevention, counseling and weight-loss prgorams, lab tests and imaging scans like MRI. Our outpatient radiological specialties include neuroradiology, interventional radiology, and pediatric radiology, to name a few.

Bodine Infusion

Bodine Infusion Unit is an outpatient area with 18 treatment spaces.  The unit provides specialized infusions and care required by patients with medical and/or oncology, hematology and neurology diagnoses.

Gamma Department – JHN

Sterotactic radiosurgery and sterotactic radiotherapy are minimally invasive treatments for malignant or benign tumors and lesions of the brain and spine. These non-surgical procedures enable physicians to selectively treat brain tumors or blood vessel abnormalities deep within the brain without an incision. High concentrations of radiation beams are precisely directed onto a specific target to destroy the abnormal cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue.

Interventional Neuro Radiology – JHN

The INR Department includes two state-of-the-art neuro-angiography suites and the first intra-operative hybrid suite in the region. The hybrid suite enables the Endovascular Neurosurgeons to diagnose and treat complex neurovascular disease in the operating room endovascularly or surgically without ever leaving the suite. Services include cerebral angiograms, coil embolization of aneurysms, glue embolizations of AVM’s, fistulas, and tumors, carotid and intra-cerebral angioplasty and stenting, as well as the intra-arterial thrombolytic treatment of acute ischemic stroke.

Additionally, our team is trained in the latest technology available for the treatment of embolic stroke. These include the Mercie-Retrieval Device and the Penumbra as well as other devices currently in clinical trials. IN addition to the five endovascular neurosurgeons that lead the care in the INR, the team include anesthesiologists, neurophysiologists, highly trained and experienced nurses and x-ray technologists who work collaboratively to ensure the best possible care and patient experience.
